Add “mgr_dl.php” (without the quotes) after the / and before the ? in any Megaupload file URL to download the file without having to enter any capcha or wait.

So for example, for:

To get the free premium-like download.

You only get three of these per IP per day though. However, if you have DSL, you could just reset your IP address every time (if you can program, you could write your own MU download manager that resets your IP every three downloads). Go to your router/modem’s setup page and renew your Internet lease to reset it.

This seems to work with download accelerators (e.g. DownThemAll) and I’ve always gotten my maximum download speed (not that great, ~350 KB/s) – but it’s not exactly like premium since you can’t have two downloads going at the same time.

Also, in case any of you are awake from 09:00-11:00 UTC, you can get Happy Hour without installing their spy/trackware toolbar by adding the following cookies (use Add n Edit cookies extension for Firefox) after logging in:

Für die meisten ist dies sicherlich ein netter Einfall von Megaupload, aber man merkt dass es lediglich für “No-Premium-User” zu Verfügung gestellt wurde, die Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von Premiumuser und diesem “Premiumlinks-for-free” Event ist mit 97-157 kBit/s doch sehr durchwachsen. Mit einem regulären Premiumaccount kann ich mit meiner Downloadrate von 224 kBit/s  die nicht gerade viel ist,  je nach Uhrzeit, voll ausnutzen.

Der Vorteil gegenüber “Premiumlinks-for-free” Events ist definitv, der gleichzeitige Download mehrer Dateien gleichzeitig. Manche von euch mögen sich warscheinlich jetzt wieder an die alten Reconnect Zeiten erinnern, wo dies mit Rapidshare auch noch ging . Die Leecher sollten sich doch damit abfinden, dies ist Schnee von gestern. Powerstoff mit Bölkstoff gibts auch nicht umsonst, jeder Hoster muss sich am Leben erhalten, da ist kein Platz für High-Speed-Downloads for free.

Johnny Chung Lee, the former Carnegie Mellon researcher known for finding creative ways to adapt the Wiimote, has revealed himself as one of the minions behind Project Natal, Microsoft’s effort to add motion-sensing capabilities into the Xbox 360.

Lee, who is now a researcher at Microsoft, said in a blog posting that he has been working on the motion-sensing project.

“Now, I should preface by saying I don’t deserve credit for anything that you saw at E3,” Lee said in the blog, which he posted on Monday night. “A large team of very smart, very hard-working people were involved in building the demos you saw on stage. The part I am working on has much more to do with making sure this can transition from the E3 stage to your living room – for which there is an even larger team of very smart, very hard-working people involved.”

Microsoft demoed Project Natal on Monday as part of its press conference at the E3 trade show. The technology allows a person to act as their own remote, with a depth-sensing camera capturing their motion, and software then translating it into actions.

Lee notes that he can’t reveal anything beyond what Microsoft shared, but does talk a little about the technology that underlies Natal.

“The 3D sensor itself is a pretty incredible piece of equipment providing detailed 3D information about the environment similar to very expensive laser range finding systems but at a tiny fraction of the cost,” Lee wrote. “Depth cameras provide you with a point cloud of the surface of objects that is fairly insensitive to various lighting conditions allowing you to do things that are simply impossible with a normal camera.”

The hard work, he said, is thenThe hard work, he said, is then converting that cloud of points into human actions, something which requires some pretty sophisticated algorithms. That said, the work could lead in some even cooler directions.

“At times, working on this project has felt like a miniature ‘Manhattan project’ with developers and researchers from around the world to coming together to make this happen,” Lee wrote. “We would all love to one day have our own personal holodeck. This is a pretty measurable step in that direction.”

Before joining Microsoft, Lee gained attention for his projects using the sensor bar and remote of the Nintendo Wii to work as head-tracking devices, a multitouch user interface and more.

Ich muss sagen, wenns bei der X360 wirklich seit kommt, werde ich sie mir wohl auch kaufen. Ich mag die Motionsteuerung (auch mit Kontroller), es ist definitiv ein anderes Spielgefühl.

This year’s 12th issue of Square Enix’s Young Gangan seinen manga magazine will announce on Friday that a television sequel for the Darker than BLACK anime has been green-lit. A file purportedly leaked from the BONES anime studio last July had revealed the plans for a “Darker than BLACK 2″ anime series with original director Tensai Okamura. Character designer Yuji Iwahara had launched a new manga version of the anime in the 11th issue of the same Young Gangan magazine last month.
